A New Contrarian
Friday, October 6th, 2006We’ve been working long days - two, even three-hour days - as we scramble to lauch The Contrarian Traveller 2.0. We’re happy to announce a new hire. Rob Jordan, a staff writer at Miami New Times, is joining us as Senior Editor. The name Rob Jordan is surely familiar to anyone who has observed the skyrocketing popularity of metrosexual travel - Rob singlehandedly created the genre, with his trademark turn of phrase. But Rob is more than just a cultural arbiter. Prior to working for papers in Anniston, Alabama and Miami, Rob was in the travel industry - he was an innkeeper - and not an ordinary one. He started Gary, Indiana’s first B&B. At the CT, Rob will supervise our redesign, and will also be the senior editor chiefing “Le Projet du Haiti,” our most ambitious original feature to date. In coming days, we’re planning to a name an Art Director to work closely with Rob.
