August in the Everglades
Thursday, October 5th, 2006Famed for mosquitoes, suffocating humidity, searing sun, unrelenting heat (high temperatures in the 90s), cranky alligators, and a conspicuous absence of any meaningful wildlife, few tourists consider Florida’s Everglades National Park as a viable summer destination. Let alone a camping option. But the CT found that - contrary to conventional wisdom - AUGUST is the time to experience the River of Grass.
